Noah's Ark Scans posts a recap of 2026 Durupınar samples, with an illustrated graphic
· by Noah's Ark Scans
Noah's Ark Scans recapped the 2026 Durupınar season on X, citing 300+ soil samples, cores to about 20 metres, radar anomalies and charred wood it says Atila confirmed, now out for carbon-14 dating.
What is claimed
NAS says Atila confirmed recovery of multiple pieces of damaged, charred wood and that radar shows unusual subsurface patterns.
What is established
Wood fragments were sent for carbon-14 dating; as of 2 November no laboratory result, species identification or verified photograph of the wood had been published.
Details
The post (19:54 UTC, 31 October) says the team collected "hundreds of physical samples from inside, outside, and deep beneath the formation" and that "the next chapter of this investigation will be written in the laboratory". The attached graphic shows soil jars, two blackened wood pieces, core tubes and a radar-style rendering; the post does not say whether these are photographs of the actual samples, and the images look illustrative. It adds no new results. Sivas Cumhuriyet University has separately reported 366 core samples sent to Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, with fuller results expected into 2027.
