Atila reports interim radar and sample results at the 8th Ağrı Dağı and Noah's Ark Symposium
· by Cenker Atila, Sivas Cumhuriyet University (SCU)
Prof. Cenker Atila said 20% of the radar analysis was done, with corridor- and room-like features and a three-layer formation, but said the data are not conclusive and the features may be geological.
What is claimed
Radar shows corridor-like structures, room-like voids and a three-layer formation, which Atila said could be linked to the three-deck Ark of scripture.
What is established
Atila said the current data are not sufficient for a firm conclusion and that the structures could be geological; lab results were pending.
Details
Atila said a small amount of burnt wood was found and sent for carbon-14 dating in Turkey and France, with results expected in about 15 days (France) and 3 months (Turkey), and that soil samples down to about 18 m are being analysed. Eric Hovind, who attended, wrote that the symposium was hosted by Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University in cooperation with Andrews University.
